We are the continuation of the family tradition of "pulpeira"

Our ancestors began this craft over 100 years ago at fairs and festivals in Galicia.

Since 2014, "A Pulpeira" has carried the “pulpeira” tradition from the small village of Arcos, in O Carballiño, along with the vacuum cooking method developed by French chef Georges Pralus, adapted to octopus cooking in our own style.

We develop vacuum cooking of octopus so it cooks in its own juices, alone, just as if cooked at home, inside a bag that preserves the flavor generated by cooking, without additives, without preservatives, and in its natural juices, while maintaining the texture in high-temperature cooking for a long time to ensure the flavor and texture of the highest quality octopus.

We select each octopus we cook, and that’s why we are present in the main seafood markets worldwide, where octopus is processed and selected directly just a few meters from the coast, using traditional methods and our own techniques.

Preparation Methods

Microwave

  • Cut open and heat for 2 minutes at medium power.

  • If the packaging is not microwave-safe, cut or pierce the bag and heat for a maximum of 2 minutes at medium power.

Bain-marie (Water bath)

  • Without opening the packaging, submerge in hot water and heat for 4 minutes. Remove and serve.

Grill or pan

  • Heat a bit of oil in a pan or on a grill. Sear the octopus on both sides until a golden color appears.


Make the most of the warm juice generated in vacuum cooking

You can use the juice for soups, sauces, rice dishes, croquettes, etc.


STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS:

Keep refrigerated between 0ºC and 4ºC.
Once opened, consume within one day.
