About the ingredients

These seafood treasures, included in the Shiki Parents’ Day Set, are carefully selected for a premium home dining experience. Bafun uni — or short-spike sea urchin — is known for its clean yet sweet quality that lingers gently on the palate. It is immediately recognisable by its bright sunny or orangey egg-yolk colour and is commonly found in the northern waters of Japan, near Hokkaido and further up north. Around the world, including Singapore, bafun uni is sought after by MICHELIN-starred restaurants and private dinners, used in dishes from pasta to sushi, risotto to claypot rice — or simply enjoyed with seaweed and soy sauce.

A bevy of premium produce

Also of note is Shiki’s Mentaiko, marinated pollock roe brimming with a savoury umami flavour, specially chosen and brought in from a famed mentaiko maker. This set also includes Caviar, prized for its glossy, shimmering pearls and delicate oceanic taste with a subtle brine and creamy finish.

Bring home also F1 Sakura Wagyu, a crossbreed of two of the world’s most renowned types of cattle: Japanese Wagyu and Japanese Angus. This results in beef that is highly marbled like Wagyu, yet full of the deep, beefy flavour that Angus beef is known for.

Set C also includes King Crab Legs, known for their sweet, succulent meat and satisfying texture. They are ideal for grilling, steaming, butter poaching, or serving alongside uni-mentaiko pasta for a luxurious seafood-forward meal.

The Pasta Pack ensures home chefs can whip up a complete celebratory meal — excellent with seafood or as a mentaiko pasta dish. Each set also includes Special Rokusuke Salt, a premium Japanese sea salt crafted using time-honoured methods and 100% natural seawater. Infused with umami-rich essences from high-quality Hokkaido konbu, dried shiitake mushrooms, and dried Japanese scallops, it is ideal as a finishing salt for grilled meats, fresh seafood, and pasta dishes.
