Yonezawa Wagyu is a top-tier brand of wagyu Yamagata Prefecture, it is renowned as one of Japan’s top three brands yearly. Known for its "melt-in-your-mouth" texture, it comes from ONLY female cattle raised for over 32 months, producing intense, sweet fat and high-quality umami.

Hailing from Yamagata Prefecture in northern Japan, Yonezawa Wagyu is one of the country’s most prestigious and historically revered beef brands. Raised in a colder climate with pure mountain water and carefully managed feed, the cattle develop finely textured marbling that yields a soft, melt-in-your-mouth consistency. Compared to richer southern Wagyu, Yonezawa is known for its refined elegance—offering a lighter, clean sweetness with layered umami and a smooth, lingering finish. Its delicate balance makes it especially prized for preparations that highlight purity and subtlety.

Ribeye is usually the most used part when it comes to Japanese Shabushabu, Sukiyaki and hot pots, some people also love it for BBQ and Grill. The meat has a fat which runs through the entire steak giving you an even fat to meat ratio. The fat in the middle of the Ribeye is extremely tasty and helps to give more flavor to the whole piece of steak. 


A5 Wagyu is fattier and has more fat to meat ratio than A4 wagyu, this means that it will has a stronger melt in your mouth feel and a higher wagyu beef fat flavor profile. For those who LOVE fat like we do, this is a must!

  • Best consumed in Shabu, Sukiyaki, Steamboat or Stir Fry
  • Flash frozen for freshness 
  • This product is best consumed within 3 days once opened/thawed.
  • Approximate 6-7 slices

To Defrost / To Store

    1. Leave in the fridge for 1-2 hours 
    2. Leave under running water for 30min
    3. Do Not re-freeze after it has thawed and defrosted.
    4. Once defrosted, keep refrigerated and consume within 3 days.
