Bafun Uni Half Box Bara (A Grade) - 100g

Our Bafun uni is freshly harvested by hand off the coasts of Hokkaido by our dedicated team of fishermen and women. The uni is then individually sorted by hand and graded, before being packed and flown to Singapore.
Freshly caught Bafun uni has a bright beautiful orange colour with a firm texture. A half box uni is more than enough to feed a group of 2, or perfect for an individual who is a really big uni lover! The uni has a sweet chestnut-ty profile, is creamy and light.

What's the difference between Narabi & Bara sea urchin?
Bara style is an arrangement that uni farmers use to create a woven pattern for their product. Although each uni arrangement in the bara style tends to be a bit smaller than those arranged in the narabi style, chefs prefer it for certain dishes as the smaller pieces of uni can sometime have a more intense umami flavour profile!
Mixed bara Bafun uni is best eaten with:
- sushi rice;
- kaisen don;
- seaweed;
- pasta;
- risotto; and/or
- a cup of sake.

私たちが取り扱うばふんうに(バフンウニ)は北海道でうにの美味しさを知り尽くした 海人さんや漁師さんにより収穫されており、その後手作業で一つ一つを 厳選されたのち出荷され、シンガポールへ空輸で運ばれております。
新鮮さが命のうには口の中でふわっととろける甘さで、美しいだいだい 色をしています。一箱の半分で約2名さま分となります。
ならびとばらの違いとは?
「ばら」は大きさの違ううにを一つ一つ織目のように並べています。大きさなどが統一なうにを詰めたものを「ならび」や「弁当箱」と呼びます。実は、小さめのうにの入った「ばら」をシェフは好んでオーダーされます。小さめのうにには、うに独特の旨みがより凝縮されているのです!
