Ichigo-ni, Abalone and Sea Urchin Broth
is a traditional Aomori broth dish. It is a soup made from Iwate sea urchins and abalones.
Soup Preparation:
After opening the can of soup, transfer to a small pot and warm it up before eating. The soup is rich, so do taste first and add water if necessary. Do add additional abalone, sea urchin or other seafoods to your liking if available. You may garnish with fresh chopped spring onions or perilla leafs for added fresh flavour.
Rice Preparation:
Takikomi Gohan. Cook Japanese short-grain rice using the canned soup. 1 can of soup will season 2-3 cups of rice. Do add additional abalone slices, sea urchin or other seafoods to your liking if available. Mix your rice and you will enjoy the rich aroma of the sea in your rice.
